Your killer cans are great, esp like the ammo belts you added – very orky.

Gunner Dunbar25 May 2014 11:14 p.m. PST

Very inspirational as usual, love the Killa Kans, they are nice.

zrunelord26 May 2014 4:06 a.m. PST

Glad you like them Redroom & Gunner.

The ammo belts are simply thinly cut rolled flat cable ( ever present :):) )

Would love to see what Killa Kan/ Ork Mecha designs you can cook up Dan .

Converting some 15mm Ork stuff myself at the moment, how did you do the rivets? They're the one thing I'm struggling with. Cheers!

zrunelord26 May 2014 10:10 p.m. PST

OctaCgaz,
A small plastic bottle with a nozzle ( think small kitchen soap bottle ) + cut off metal syringes of different diameters + steel wire or needles to fit into syringe.
Fit the syringe to the nozzle & you can accurately apply white glue wherever & in whatever quantities you want , the steel wire is to clean the syringe as it clogs up quite often.

This system can also be used for basing in an accurate quick fashion & applying glue accurately in card terrain building.

Glad to help

OK so the rivets are dried white glue? cool, have heard of textile paint being used for rivets, but not white glue.

OctaChaz27 May 2014 2:01 a.m. PST

That sounds a great way of applying rivets. I used to sit there cutting small rods into tiny little pieces to glue on for my 28mm stuff, but that is too big for 15mm. Definitely going to give your method a try.

zrunelord27 May 2014 4:00 a.m. PST

Yes Gunner, simply glue.I use fast drying white wood glue.

Necessity is the mother of invention.I got tired of doing the usual ways for making rivets.I discovered that this way is very productive. So yes, OctaChaz , do try it.

Having said that, one has to do them once or twice to get the desired height & it is not that easy to get them all the same diameter ,still it is the best quickest way I found.

Look at all the pics I put & you'll see.Literally 1000's of the little Bleeped texts :):):).

I use 2 sizes,a small 10cm high plastic bottle with a short 0.5mm diameter metal syringe for rivets & a larger one with a longer 1mm diameter syringe for basing & card terrain.

This should help but if you'd like I'll take pics to explain better.

Another awesome set…

Have you thought about gorkamorka in 15mm?

zrunelord27 May 2014 9:57 p.m. PST

Thank you MrHarold,
Actually all the time I was making them ,as it is on of my favourite all time games ( plus Necromunda off course).I'll post my scratchbuilt Grkma vehicles in the 25mm section also, for you to see.

One can easily convert between trukks & trakks by using magnets or slip on corrugated card tracks.
