No doubt not news to TMP crew based in the US, or ex Army personnel but these series of Civil War Commemorative Brochures are worth a look on free download

I've been there a few times to research specific units and engagements. They have an amazing amount of information in their collections. It's not organized quite as well as some collections, but it's still amazing in it's volume.

It's well worth the time to visit, even if just to say you were there. grin

Excellent post, just back from US and a tour of eastern battles. Booklets would be an excellent help if you plan a visit.

As a Military Historian as my last duty position in the U.S. Army – i know these guys very well. Several of their staff are also wargamers, as well as being a great resource for research.
