I've done some research, but what I have found is related to the post war A-6s. Over Vietnam did VA-155 fly under the callsign "Vixen" or "Jackal"? Anyone know? The A-6 page says overseas they used "Jackal", but not sure if these where modern names. |

VA-155 was disestablished in 1977 and reestablished as an A-6 squadron in 1987, so anything related to the A-6 is likely modern. The squadron used A-4s and A-7s in Vietnam. According to A4Skyhawk.org the call sign they used in the A-4 era was "Silver Fox". |

I think the squadron name was "silver fox", not the call sign. But I'm not sure. Thanks for the info! |

You are correct, the squadron name is "Silver Foxes". According to the website they used the squadron name as their callsign. |
