I have just completed a second batch of Perry mounted Men at Arms giving me some Lancastrians to go up against the Yorkists which I completed last month, see –
link
I decided on de Vere livery as having good potential for re-use throughout the wars but placed the unit under the command of Sir Thomas de Vere as his father the Earl of Oxford commands a Battle on foot.
While it is true that mounted action was virtually non-existent (except at Bosworth) the Perry figures are simply too good to ignore.

It is usually assumed that the "200 spears" at Tewkesbury were mounted.

Yes I agree the 200 spears at Tewksbury probably were mounted and there are a couple of other instances as well. But I guess most would have been lighter cavalry – Scourers or the like

Those large photographs make me very envies, you did a great job on them.

Big wow.

They are very impressive and remind me why I do not paint 28mm medievals.

Very nice.

You are right these are some lovely figures ( both the sculpting and the painting )

Thanks Steve, hope we might get a clash to mounted men at arms.

But I guess most would have been lighter cavalry – Scourers or the like

For one thing, scourers, even though technically "light" cavalry, were not actually that light – most would have had at least some armour. Secondly, scourers were scouting troops – they did not have a battlefield role. So, on the whole, no, I do not think the "200 spears" at Tewkesbeury were lighter cavalry, but rather just mounted men-at-arms.

Also…you should have plenty of cope for small actions with your mounted MAA, just not much in the big engagements.

smacdowall01 Jun 2014 6:15 a.m. PST

Quite correct.
They saw action recently in my latest WoR game link
Although the Lancastrians were forced to dismount when faced by archers the Yorkists remained on horseback and conducted two charges.

Love them!
