Are there any books or wargames booklets (scenarios, etc.) on the German invasion of Belgium? With that forthcoming release of those gorgeous Van Dyck Models, and the 100th Anniversary of the Great War, I think it may be time to do some sort of skirmish/small scale actions set in Belgium.

Can't help you with the books, too busy drooling all over my keyboard…
Those figures make the Peter Pig Belgian army pack in my lead pile look like utter crap :-)

Two recent books

In Flanders Flooded Fields
link
covers the 1914 campaign especially on the Yser
and
Breaking the Fortress Line
link
which covers the fall of the Belgian fortresses in 1914.

Both are excellent books

Regards

Those Van Dyck figures are rather nice!!

They ARE great looking figures, yes? And that is saying something as I think Peter Pig does fine work.

Broglie, thank you very much for the book titles. Off to Amazon I go!

Aren't the van dyck 10/12mm and the PP 15mm?

Buckeye AKA Darryl21 May 2014 1:46 p.m. PST

Yes, they are, which makes the Van Dyck figures that much more impressive. The detail on them is outstanding!

The Van Dyck figures look great. I hope that they will be soon available and the range extended with cavalry, mounted and dismounted

The figures are works of art in terms of detail, just a little too static in pose. If they were in advancing/ charging poses I think It would be a case of game over.
