I have been considering placing an order to Black Cat Bases and I am wondering it is safe to do so at this point or just wait a few months? Please advise? David P. |

just my experience, I have ordered from them and though it did take about 6-8 weeks all did arrive, and when I emailed they did contact me and said they were working to get the orders out. So I haven't written them off. |

Hi, I apologize for the delay on dispatch of orders, this has been due to severe and unexpected ill health. Also our internet has been down for a long period of time and so I have been unable to access anything! I have not been able to make contact with them for months. No response. Not unusual in the miniatures business. I've been trying to get the editor of a well-known miniatures page to respond to the ad I sent to him back on 14 January (in response to the automatic system for booking), and re-sent on 1 February. And he has a full quota of staff to help out. |

I have bought from them in the past and would hope to do so again in the future, so I hope the company can persevere despite health woes (understandable problem for a small, indie firm). They were always great to deal with in the past and had some unique castings. Best wishes to them. |

I agree with piper909, but the problem arises when BCB don't close their online shop and keep taking orders that they appear to have real difficulties in fulfilling. I'd love to see them up and running properly again, but in the meantime I think it would save them a lot of grief if they just put the business on pause. |

As I mentioned on one of the several other threads, I made a modest order in December and received it in February. It seems to be a roll of the dice. |

I don't remember this being on their website before: "Hi, I apologise for the delay on dispatch of orders, this has been due to severe and prolonged ill health. We have now dispatched all but 2 outstanding orders, they will be out within the next 10 days. We will of course be honouring all orders. We would like to extend our sincere thanks for your patience. You will receive confirmation once your order has been dispatched. Once again my sincere and unreserved apologies! I can confirm their recent activity. A few weeks ago they erroneously dispatched my order from months ago for a second time, and when I contacted them to rectify this they kindly told me to keep the second lot with their compliments. It arrived a few days back and, as with the first lot, is very nice. I read that as honest traders trying to regain good will. I wish them luck. |

SO do I, to be honest. I always liked dealing with them and they have some unique items in their range. I wish them nothing but well and HOPE they can get back on their feet again. Sadly, I do think they have been their own worst enemy of late though. |
