not a lot of difference between infantry and cavalry generals, only artillery generals had the special uniform, as for the distinction between infantry and cavalry generals
Gloves
The infantry generals did wear short white gloves ending at the wrist the cavalry generals gloves with cuffs as for the Chevau – Leger officers.
Saddle cloth
Was of red cloth, with solid fringes of gold or silver, the single lace was made of silver, along this lace there was embroidery, similar to the coat, the holster flaps were identical and had a slightly pointed end. In the corner of the saddle cloth which was shaped as a parallel trapezoid was the Royal cypher framed by laurel twigs and leaves.
Cavalry generals however had pointed saddle cloths as for light cavalry officers.
Infantry generals did carry a sword, cavalry ones a sabre, the white waistbelt was worn beneath of the coat and behind the flap of the trousers.
