I found a bag of Hexbug stuff for sale today for $10 USD today.
I added that to the two play-sets I got when walmart had them in the sale isle and 2nd lot I found at a church jumble sale. So far I have spent about $40 USD-$50 for all this I decided it was time to see what I could do with them. What kind of footprint they make laid out.
Now I am trying to figure out how I want to use these. One idea will have them painted in sandstone and glue lots of sand down covering parts of it and making it a desert blown world abandoned bazaar of sorts.
the second idea is to dirty it up and make it into a necromuda table. The third idea is to have it covered in lots of foliage and make it an overgrown building area
I should point out that the current set-up is pretty much unplayable with normal sized hands. I was just figuring out a footprint.
