Typical, just as I get ready to order some 1866 figures from North Star, I see that they've sold most of the range to someone else. Bleeped text.

me too!

Well, this could be good news… if the new owner has the intention to release new miniatures for the range, and may be to widen it with other nations. Anybody has any clue?

NickNorthStar16 May 2014 1:41 p.m. PST

Sorry Alan. Hopefully it won't be too long before the figures are back. The new owner is a familiar name, but I'll let them announce it.

This is a bit of a pain…

whats the sort of timeframe we are looking at here Nick?

Likewise just about to place orders

I've no idea on the timescale of the re-release, it's out of my hands. The original designer is back on board with the new owner though.

joaquin9918 May 2014 3:10 a.m. PST

There have been 2 different designers with the current range?

Hi All
I was just too late to put in an order for 2 Hungarian command sets :( Does anyone out their have a couple of Hungarian standard bearers and 2 infantry figures going spare and they're prepared to sell?
Thanks

mashrewba04 Jun 2014 9:45 a.m. PST

I might have -I'll have a look ( I don't have flag blokes in my armies cos I can't be arsed fiddling around but don't tell anyone!!!)

Salfordian05 Jun 2014 4:30 a.m. PST

Mashrewba you're a Star! I will keep my fingers crossed. I take your point re the Austrian flag poles being a tad fiddly. I can't think why no one hasn't designed a paper sheet version – a type of roll your own Austrian flag pole, albeit around a metal or plastic core.
Cheers

Battle Honors offers a range of 25mm figures for the 1866 War. Here is the link

A top tip with Battle Honors if you want Hungarian Infantry in Kittel use the Grenzers as they are more compatable with more modern figures. The Austrians in kittel are small figs but the chaps in great coats are the same size as Foundry -the grenzers are slightly bigger again.
Does anyone know anything about the figs the 'Volunteer Infantry' who are wearing some sort of folk hat?

Email sent Salfordian.

North Star are selling the existing range. No sign of anything new really.
