This is the regiment that almost broke me. On completing this unit for our Project Auldearn refight, I had painted ~170 models with some kind of tartan clothing. And the last 50 were a real slog. Anyway pushed on through and finally finished the unit couple of weeks ago.

On the painting table just now is a regular covenanter garrison regiment. And being groomed for table is a horde of Scots Royalist Cavalry. |

The plaids are wonderfully done, exceptional work! The man with the bill hook, or glaive, or bardiche whatever it is, is particularly cool to me. |

Lovely, lovely work. I would never attempt it, but it is exceptional. |

Amazing work!! If only that tartan paint advertised in an April issue of MW many years ago was available :-) |

Not just the plaids – the other garments are painted just as well. Thank heavens my Scots are 10mm, however, and I'm not under the same performance pressure. |

Thanks folks! Lots more to come in the next couple of weeks
James, the chap with the Lochaber Axe is a highland pikeman from Eureka Mniatures, the lochaber axe is from Bicorne. The bonnet is finest green stuff. Timbo, you have no idea how much better the last 6 months would have been with tartan paint. All the best Walter |
