What with one thing and another I have not played Dux Bellorum since Salute 2013 when I put on a game with James, Tom, Steve Andy and the team. For our club night yesterday Martin and I arranged a game pitting his Twilight of Britannia force against my Early Saxons.
After a bit of head scratching we played out a fine game.

very nice Are the troops on 40x40 then put on a sabot base? |

Sweet looking figures and bases. Thanks for the AAR. Need to find some opponents for my late romans :) |

Nice looking game and great battle report. Dux Bellorum is a really fun game. Simplicity and elegance all rolled into one! |

Thanks chaps. Martins troops are all based on 120mm frontages. Mine are my standard WAB bases ( 20x25mm and multiples thereof ) on a 120mm frontage sabot. It did not seem that simple last night when I was flicking through the rule book of a set that I had not played for a year and that Martin had never played. |

Just got these rules and hope to play them as soon as I finish my Saxons |

Great rules. I really like them and they can be adapted easily to other periods. Not too complicated and they give a good game. |
