Does anyone know if the LieB flag stayed the same from the WSS to the SYW? If I understand it the LieB standard should have stayed the same since it was passed from generation to generation? Also would the other flag they carried have the horse on it or the cursive letters? I've got the Pat C. Book and the Dan Schoor cd (but it's in German so I can't read it) and they seem to contradict one another. Please correct me if I am wrong and any help appreciated. I would just like to know the correct flags to use if possible. Thanks in advance V/R David |

Having looked at the SYW Lieb (white) flags on the Kronoskaf site, I would be very surprised if the WSS flags were the same. The SYW flags show the British Royal coat of arms on one side with Hannoverian emblems on the other with the supporters from the Royal coat of arms. Despite the future George I's Stuart ancestory, I would expect to see the Arms or devices of the Brunswick-Luneburg dukes on the Lieb flags. An interesting alternate possibility is thrown up on the Kronoskaf site with the Lieb flag for Regt 8A, which shows the same design as the red Regimental flag but on the white background. Might this have been the system in use before Elector George became King George? |

My mistake DHautpol, I was thinking the LieB is the colored regimental flag. Thanks for the help. The other "regimental" flag is the one I am interested in did it stay the same from the WSS to SYW? I would like to use the regimental colors from the Kronoskaf site. But to also discuss the white colonel's I assume the little I can find is the Saxon Horse in the middle of a red field surrounded by a wreath is correct for the WSS. The flag could also be the color of the cuffs of the regiment. Any help on this also? |

Thanks maciek72. I agree with a lot of what you found. The book your using is the Dan Schoor CD I have. Your blog really helped me understand the CD better, again Thank you! Were you ever able to find any more info? From what you posted it looks like the regimental flags were not past down but were changed every time a new colonel came along. Any idea on what the national standard was changed to when George Louis came in to power? |

@DGT123 I haven't been able to find any other info than books listed in my post, so it remains mystery to me. I'm rather sure that colours changed after Elector becam crowned the King of GB, so SYW pattern couldn't be used. |
