I am not a modeller, just a wargamer, but been having fin with the ESCI bishop, a couple of figures from the ESCI 25lb set, and my first experiments in 'chipping' – so here it is:

Very nicely done, especially the chipping effect.

Where's the mitre? And the crook?

Oh – THAT kind of Bishop!

Seriously, excellent work – and the weathering is superb

The camo is speculative, based on the Starmer work, close to the instructions but an undercoat of modelmaster 'desert sand' then a 'German Camo Beige' patter.

The chipping was done firstly with the edge of a piece of paper dipped into vallejo track colour (I couldn't find a sponge) dabbed on roughly along edges etc, then a fine brush to paint on flecks of Vallejo Black grey on edges/welds and more lightly on flat surfaces, I then followed up with rust using streaks of a burnt sienna, and a final very very light drybrush of gunmetal.

I was very surprised how well it turned out. Easily the best looking work I have done in this scale. And the technique was really very simple, so I will use it again.

Sweet! Really looks like it's been a few months in the desert.

Nice work. It really gives a sense of weathering and hard use, loads of character.
