Seeing all these updates has got me wanting a platoon of Quar!

Trojan Points11 May 2014 3:27 a.m. PST

Like any wargamer can stop at just a platoon ;-)

It all started with "those minis are cool, I'd love a couple", and before I knew it I had bought a company of them and every single battalion, regimental and divisional asset I could think of; I plan to buy a company worth of vehicles and make a gaming board especially designed for them.

Talk about an addiction!

Yeah, when I get hooked by a set of characterful minis I can't stop! The Quar are going on my long, long list of things I need to purchase :)

You done some beautiful work. I really enjoyed looking at your website. Richard

If I had the time, space and $$, I may well have gone with 28mm Quar. I'm still really tempted to get a few for RPG use.

However, once I started painting Flames of War minis, I really got sucked into 15mm stuff (plus I can recycle lots of terrain between different 15mm eras). So I went with 15mm Quar. Besides, I can snag oddball tanks like the TOG2 or a Churchill 3" Gun Carrier for support.

@OctaChaz
I just refuse to actually make such a list, it would be to depressing… I'm very taken by this AQotQF project though, so it just took priority over everything else I'd like to buy (GZG, Khurasan: yes I'm looking at you, sorry). Hopefully they show up before this surge of enthusiast die and they end up on the unpainted lead pile!

@ War In 15mm
You realize I haven't done any work yet, right? Everything shown in those posts are pictures from the manufacturer website or pictures of other bloggers' work (showed with their kind permission)!

@ Lion in the Stars
Time, space (no so much for minis but for terrain) and money (although in to a lesser degree, as I'm not into large games) also made me abandon 28mm and shift my focus to 15mm. I'm rarely seriously tempted to go back though… Wonderful things coming out in 15mm faster than I can buy them (never mind paint and/or play with them) and wonderfully open and kind community!

Question
Does the top come off the machine gun nest?

Like the looks of that.

Trojan Points11 May 2014 11:50 p.m. PST

Don't think so, it looks more a objective marker than a building. But I'm honestly not sure. I've emailed Kerr&King and will let you know if and when I get a answer!

Got this from andyskinner over at Quar Invasion!

Made from a "pomegranate bottle"… Not sure what it is and/or if I can source one but that's a really nice shape!

Bleeped text Bleeped text Bleeped text Bleeped text Bleeped text!

They come in four different size/shape too…

Where do they sell them?

Trojan Points15 May 2014 4:10 a.m. PST

@Lfseeney

Got the following answer from K&K about the MG nest:

"Hi,

Unfortunately this item is moulded in 1 piece and the top is not removable.

Thanks,

Nick"
