Played a large 2000 pts per side game last night using the "Domination" scenario. Could not have asked for better results from a scenario.

Good stuff. I play in 15mm and have played upto 3000 points (on an 8x4) and it works quite well. Scenario looks good too, I'll give it a go.

An unrelated question but I noticed that for Bolt Action games, the infantry always seems to be shoulder to shoulder.

Is that a function of the rules or is it just easier to move large amounts of guys around that way ?

Yes, All units are required to maintain unit cohesion and models cannot be seperated by one that 1" from each other. Along the same lines a unit cannot move closer than 1" to another unit (enemy or friendly) unless they are assaulting.
