Gents, could anyone point me in the direction of a reliable source of information concerning the webbing straps on the Prussian knapsack/roll. I'm aware the webbing straps are white for line inf and black for the fusiliers, however I can't locate anything definite concerning the straps on the rear – are they the same as the front? Thanks Andy |

I don't know the answer to this, but I can say that from looking at a lot of uniform plates and cigarette cards, the blanket straps follow the white and black rule but the mess tin is always held on with black straps. This is how I paint mine, but I hope someone can give us a better answer. John |

ALL Webbing is white for musketier and black for fusilier.. Haversack is beige in the field and white on parade. |

Rudi, once more I am greatly obliged to you. It goes to show there are limits to what can be gained by squinting at cigarette cards. john |

Thanks Gents, Rudi can I just confirm, the backpack I'm referring to is the large one worn on the back, not on the hip. So the straps on this match the musketier/Fusilier system. Thanks Andy |
