Its been a bit of a lean time on the Blog lately but the third report of the day is about the Anglo Zulu war.

My first attempts at doing 10mm AZW figures from Pendraken can be found on Carls Blog. We have another pack to do and i'm hoping he might actually join in painting his own figures for the next batch!

Anyone interested in the period can find a report here-

Those are looking great, Mick.

BTW, if you are doing other nineteenth century conflicts in 10mm – so you can reuse some of your British with other enemies – I believe there is a pretty British highland battalion, with red tartan trousers, which deployed to the NW frontier.

NWF would be good to do in deed. The pictures were taken by the wife so she must take the credit!

Thanks for the interest.

Out of interest, how are you going to base your British?

I have a similar project on hold and these may well inspire me to get it finished.

Captain-

As i will be using Black Powder i am following their advice on basing. These are standard sized units and the British bases will therefore be the same width. The depth will be halved so the British will be based in single ranks on each of their 4 bases whereas the Zulus are in double ranks on their four.

Carl wants to find rules with casualty removal so this has been factored into the arrangement.

If i was starting from scratch i think most of my stuff would be 10mm. Always enjoy looking at your stuff Eric and these look well up to standard.

Your Zulus look great! Do you have any regiments in full regalia? I'm trying to decide if I should go for 10mm or 15mm but would to have some of my senior units in full feathers and cow tails…..

All of our Zulus are from Pendraken so only marries and unmarried units available from them. I think you can get full regalia Zulus from Magister Militum. They certainly would look good on the table.
