IMHO these are some amazing images of Afghanistan. Though taken from the late Seventies to now, I think they have a timeless value as visual reference for colonial gamers.

Here's an example, taken in 1984. When I first saw it, despite knowing it came from 1984, I thought it looked like it could date back to 1919 or even 1897, and have been tinted with color after the fact…
