"Pop culture has been awash in a wave of Lego over the last several months, not unlike the time my older brother dumped a bin of little plastic bricks on my head as a child, though arguably far more pleasant. After the massive success of The Lego Movie and the release of the Simpsons Lego playset, we're getting the best of both worlds: a "Simpsons Lego Spectacular" airing on Fox this Sunday for the show's 550th episode. According to the trailer above, it goes a bit like you'd imagine: Homer and the entirety of Springfield end up transformed into Lego versions of themselves through some sort of supernatural process, possibly related to a Pretty Patty's Princess Shop playset (say that three times fast) purchased at the local comic shop. (Philip K. Dick fans may want to pay special attention in The Android's Dungeon, as parodies abound.)

The Simpsons is STILL on??? I haven't watched it in years, and I honestly thought it had been cancelled years ago. |

In a few years, maybe all products and franchises will be melded into a single post-cultural consciousness
easier for the consumer, more profitable for the company/s. A movie about a toy about a TV show about a movie about video game about a toy
etc
then the sequels and 'reimaginings' could begin
