Maybe the thing he's holding doubles as both rectal probe and meat thermometer – after he's carried out his 'scientific' probing, he cooks and eats the remains of his 'subject'.
I don't reckon he has much sense of hygiene, after all, his mouth must open directly onto his stomach… |
