So I dug up my horde of beastly beast men and took some quick shots the other day:

The mob is a collection of everything beastly in my unpainted lead pile, including some very old Heritage figures, a whole bunch of old multipart Citadel Runequest Broo (which make for the best sort of beastly beastmen IMHO), plus some old Metal Magic Space Lords alien nasties suitable for chaos hound stand ins.

Enjoy!evil grin

Very cool.
Much more chaotic than the 'official' version.
I've been cobbling up something similar so I can make use of all my old Ral Partha figs.

Ain't they all just such cute n' cuddly lil' old biohazards? Like you, Space Ape, I decided to do something with all my assorted oddball beastpeople sitting in storage gathering dust, and just stated adding a few to my painting table as a ready diversion whenever I felt burnout trying to creep in on other, larger projects. After about 6 months or so, I had my beast man horde all wrapped up, and reinforced by rebasing some assorted old Runequest Broos I had sitting around doing nothing after I graduated from State over 20 years ago(!!).

I just don't believe in wasting perfectly good beastmen…evil grin

T,

I agree with you 100% about the mentality and vibe of beastmen/Broos; total pack of dingos, the lot of 'em.evil grin

Now THAT is a chaotic horde, none of this uniform, repetitive, orderly GW stuff.

Also, that Yellow guy, the wormy one, what is that? He's way too much fun!

Ain't he fun?! IIRC that's a '70s vintage Asgard Miniatures Giant Slug:

It's a one piece casting, and I painted mine to resemble the Pacific Banana Slug:

which also happens to be the mascot of UC Santa Cruz:

which really made it all the more a creature of chaos in my twisted imaginings…evil grin
