We were back to playing an historical scenario last weekend, a scaled down version of R. Mark Davies' Battlefront WWII scenario, Soldiers' Day, over the weekend. The scenario is based on the Polish 10th Mounted Rifles' (the Polish 1st Division armoured reconnaissance regiment) attempt to forge deep into the crumbling German defences at the Falaise Pocket in order to seize and intact bridge at the village of Jort on the River Dives following Operation Totalize. Thanks all. I took a photo of the table when I had it half knocked down that I thought some might find interesting. There was a lot of bits of terrain making up this particular scenario!

I should also add that Bill's down-sizing of the original scenario almost certainly makes it a far more playable game and eminently playable in an evening, whereas my original would probably need a full day's play and a second mortgage for all the models. |

It's true, there was a superfluity of Cromwells (three squadrons) in the original. Great scenario, though, Mark! |
