Hi – brand new to 28mm Nappy but have been doing tabletop minis for years. Recently swapped some stuff for a batch of 28mm Calpe prussians and a similar batch of front rank Brits. Gonna use the Calpe for my regulars. Looking over the uniforms for reserve regiments, I'm wondering if I can use those front rank Brits to fill out a few battalions of prussian reserves? The uniforms look the same? That's one option – another is pickup a couple boxes of perry prussians to fill in the reserve regiments and save the Brits for that Anglo-portugese battalion that I've always wanted. Thanks

If you have a delve at Calpe's site they will fill you in re the reservists in British uniforms.

My memory isn't good after two hours sleep but iirc the uniforms were intended for Portugal and diverted to Prussia. They were what you could describe as stripped down.

If you want 100% accuracy you will have to do some converting work or save them for your other project and buy some of Calpe's fine reservists.

However a paint job and altering the shako plates and (in some cases) lace may be sufficient for make do usage. It depends upon your level of fussiness 😃

Hmmm. Okay, sounds like it might be more hassle than it's worth. Thanks -

Go for an ImagiNation! It is easier and plastics are your fried 😉

Mind those backpacks! British figs most likely have the leather packs, whereas the Prussians would have French style. You could add putty and texture with a blade or toothpick. If you have the money, I'd go with the Calpe figs.

Old Glory Miniatures has Prussian Reserve in the British uniform. I've never bought them, but their there.
