Hello, I just want to share with you some 20 mm figures I made with FIMO using the method devised by Rod Robinson.
A full article explaining this method appeared in Practical Wargamer 9 and could be found here: link
The method is very fast and simple (and I also found it fun!).
Some Argentinian soldiers circa 1840 (Unitarios and Federales).

Very good stuff indeed. Your figures have a great deal of character that makes them very distinctive.

blacksoilbill27 Apr 2014 4:28 a.m. PST

You've done a great job! They really do have character.

CPBelt27 Apr 2014 4:45 a.m. PST

A very stylized look to them!

Who asked this joker27 Apr 2014 5:38 a.m. PST

These look great! A bit whimsical which to me is a plus!

Green Tiger27 Apr 2014 5:41 a.m. PST

Wow they are fantastic. So nice to see people are still prepared to make their own stuff, in fact they look to be better proportioned than a lot of commercial figures.

listlurker27 Apr 2014 6:05 a.m. PST

Filled with charm and character, very nice

Fast, simple and fun? Maybe for you. At the end of the day I would have a ball of clay in front of me and be all kinds of Bleeped texted off. You did a great job.

normsmith27 Apr 2014 7:31 a.m. PST

Nice to see something really different – excellent work.

John D Salt27 Apr 2014 9:27 a.m. PST

Wonderful -- full of character, they would grace any wargames table.

All the best,

John.

Great stuff, well done. I echo others: you clearly have a talent for sculpting.

fred12df27 Apr 2014 10:43 a.m. PST

Those are excellent – they combine a really nice look with character style with a degree of simplicity, that just works.

Personally I like to use the bits that the sculptor has put on the figures, as a sort of 3d painting within the lines! I wouldn't know how to put together something like these (even after reading the links to the original article).

Texas Jack27 Apr 2014 10:57 a.m. PST

Wow! Those are really outstanding. Fimo requires a special kind of patience, you are to be congratulated thumbs up

CeruLucifus27 Apr 2014 11:16 a.m. PST

Great reference article, thank you for posting that. Your figures look terrific.

Matratmatt27 Apr 2014 11:19 a.m. PST

Excellent! I remember the original article but was sure I could never achieve results like yours!

John the OFM27 Apr 2014 11:59 a.m. PST

Very nice.
I didn't even know you could do that with different colored clay.

FoxtrotPapaRomeo27 Apr 2014 2:00 p.m. PST

… well done. I have tried FIMO but never managed to get the figures to look right.

Zargon27 Apr 2014 2:27 p.m. PST

Again, thank you all for your kind and encouraging comments on my figures.
It is very nice to know that what you do is liked by others.
Kind Regards, Cesar.

79thPA: you may not have the ability to sculpt, but I think you have good sense of humor: your comment really made me laugh!

Those are lovely. I'd be proud to field those troops. Well done. I just love that you make troops that don't need to be painted :-).
