I wish to thank everybody. Whenever I feel sad, lonely and depressed, a cursory look at this thread put my life in a very shiny and bright light….

If ever a thread deserved to be on Utter Drivel, it is this one.

Of course 40 60x30 stands are cheaper (30p) than 80 30x30.
Though I don't know if its worth it to cut 40 stands to save that little money.

McDonalds had the problem for years. Use to be able buy two regular cheese burgers for less than their double cheese burger. You could infer than the double burger wasn't popular.

This will make a good topic for a future poll.

Kill this thread!
Kill it well!
March a million men!
To kill and krush and trample it!
To kill this thread oh yes!
To get it done!
So march them on!
And march them over!

The poll is not going well for the premise…

Hello coastal2!

"Yes indeed I have. I learned that when someone is determined to harass you they will follow you everywhere and continue to do so. I've also learned that there is a number of people who intentional try to stir things up and they will also go out of their way to do it."

"Perfectly describes YOURSELF…."

That would seem to be impossible. I started this thread. Interesting comment though, have you looked into a mirror lately!

"And as for your apology; spare me….."

I think your the only one that can do that.

"There's no point carrying this on."

There was never any point in starting it!

"You're so locked in into your 'victim' point of view that any attempt at dialog is pointless."

Hello! Your still the only one to call me a "victim". So do you not think that's perhaps why your (I can't call it dialog) is pointless!

"So, I'll make it easier for you."

Your not making anything easy.

"There. You happy now?"

I'll certainly be happier as soon as you stop the nonsense.

"Now. _PUT_IT_TO_REST_ "

That's entirely in your hands. And if that's really your intention then simply follow your own advice.

I think, that it is time to change the "de facto standard in 6mm basing".

;-)

I vote for 20mm x 10mm.

Flecktarn20 May 2014 2:24 a.m. PST

I have to admit that in the UK I have seen a lot of 6mm "horse and musket" figures on 60x30mm bases to the extent that the base size is probably the most popular. However, I think that it is still a long way from being a "standard" as I see at least as many figures based differently, including my own.

Jurgen,

Of all the threads to see you pop up again! Glad to see you around.

I think we have established that 60mm x 30mm is the standard base size for 6mm. But I am concerned that people may be using the wrong long base edge as the front for their troops facing. They could be inadvertently be basing their troops back to front. It would be best if standard bases are marked at the factory. We could mark one long side with a long mark (Big endian) and the other long side with a short mark (Little endian).

Altefritz24 May 2014 4:10 a.m. PST

OMG. The front is not the 30mm side? This explain a lot of things….
