I ran a 'Spandau and Lewis' scenario last night, featuring the Australian Flying Corps' first air-to-air combat in November 1916. link Easily adapted to other rules, of course. |

Very nice report, as usual! It was nice seeing something from another theater as well. About the power rules, do you feel now they add enough to the game to balance the need for an additional marker? |

"About the power rules, do you feel now they add enough to the game to balance the need for an additional marker?" As they currently stand, yes I do. They rules do make a difference, which is justified by the extra die-roll and single in-game marker. Earlier versions took more effort to adjudicate and record for the effort involved, or didn't really bring out the differences I wanted. And, of course, people can now argue about whether the ratings I assign to planes are fair and accurate :) |

It sounds interesting, and I am looking forward to giving the new rules a try. I have played now a couple of games with your rules, and can say they are good, simple fun, which is exactly what I want in a game! So will you be writing up a new version soon? Glad you don´t charge for the rules, I could never afford all the versions |

I'm still poking around with changes. I may stick another draft (I haven't got as far as a true Version yet) on the 'net soon, with the power rules and increased hits/reduced ammo, which are the only major changes to the core mechanisms. Until now, the current versions of those rules are here: link Version 1.0 will appear
sometime. I want it to include the optional rules for Spotting, Clouds, Reconnaissance and Bombing, all of which I'm working on with various levels of activity. Mind you, I also want to add in Artillery Observation and Balloon Busting at some stage :) |

Oh, and if I charged for the rules I'd make sure they were more developed before putting them out there. As it is, what you get is a tidied-up brain dump. (The closest thing to a commercially viable set which I have are my gladiator rules. Even they're on v2.2. But I'd never consider charging for them because the core game was developed by someone else). |
