I have several Britains Deetail 7th Cavalry, Cowboys and Indians which, although securely tethered to their stands by the plastic plugs beneath their feet, appear as what I can only describe as "flaccid", leaning far out of normal gravitational pull. Any idea how I can tighten up theur plugs? I have considered wrapping thread around the loose anchors but that seems like too much work. Nick Stern |

Nick, How about small rubber bands? You can get both tabs at once and won't need to tie off the ends. Maybe the local dentist has a bag of rubber bands for braces. - Cort |

Make some plastic shims from the flat part of a blister, slot the shim, and push enough of them under each foot to get the center of gravity you desire for your figures. |

Hi Nick, I use a tube of plumbers putty to fill in the slots so that the figure can't move. It's cheap, about 5 or 6 bucks for a tube that will outlast you. Mix the two parts together and plug up around the slots, so that the rubber pegs can't move. Do it from underneath and you'll be fine. I actually make regular bases from the putty and discard the ugly green Britains base. It's very simple to do and the figures pop. |

I simply glue them into the desired position, especially because I use them for wargaming. But then, I am not a collector, so long-term value or keeping them in an as original state as possible is not my prime concern. See some of my figures here: link |
