Hi guys does any one have any idea when Khurasan will be back up and running? I want to buy some of their excellent dark age figures. It seems to have been down for quite awhile now. |

The brand-new 6mm stuff is up and running, the rest of the website is down until he digs out from under the order backlog. I think he should take the store down 2 days a week to keep up with orders, instead of these irregular pauses to dig out from under backlog (or when the job paying for all the minis production sends him out of town). |

I also think it would be a great improvement if he could update the site so that the shopping cart could be disabled independently of the catalog pages (with a nice notice on the front page explaining the down-time, and when it'll open again), allowing folks to continue to see what's available while he's burning through the order backlog. |

Ah the good ole way back machine. As (I think the owners name is Jon) Khurasan had mentioned here on TMP he is pretty much a one man operation and that his miniature business is not his main source of income nor does it come close to providing a substantial supplemental income given the amount of time he has to put into the business. I applaud his taking the risk that he does and shutting down while he catches up and makes sense to me at least from a customer services point of view. I would like to peruse his catalog as well but perhaps he does not have the technical knowledge to disable the order feature while leaving the catalog up. I am just glad he produces such great stuff. I would hate to see him throw up his hands and call it quits because a few gripe about these hiatuses. Khurasan also stated that he was taking the site down to catch up because he was getting complaints about how long it was taking to process orders. That to me shows he is concerned about meeting the demands of his customers. We have sadly seen other miniature businesses show less concern about their clients. |

Reading the above comments. Jon brought the site back up on the 15th from the last time he caught up on orders. Now when did it go back down this time? He must have got hammered with orders from the last shutdown. Seems to be a vicious cycle. :-) Grimm |

He usually shuts it down on the weekends I noticed over the last month. |

He usually shuts it down on the weekends I noticed over the last month. Good, hopefully the smaller pauses in order-taking will let him stay closer to caught up. Sadly, he doesn't make enough from the minis business to get the packing operation out of his house (casting is already contracted out), so no assistants other than family. I'd be willing to be paid in minis, to be honest, but I don't live close enough! |
