I bought some 10mm acw minis and am going to begin painting them. I've seen people tack them to a stick in lines of 5 for assembly line painting. What is the best way to tack them on to lets say a popsicle stick or something?

I use Elmers (white glue) for my 10mm ACW and for the most part they pop off just fine later. Occassinally they fall off and need to be reglued. I have even used a small dot of super glue when I dont want to wait for white glue. Usually 24 hours.

I also use wooden clothes pins.

I've used small dots of super glue, hot glue and white glue before. The super glue works really well but can be a pain to get the figure off. Hot glue sometimes doesn't hold the figure well, but releases easily. White glue works well, releases easily but takes time to set.

I've also used blu tac, or poster tack. Works well but can be expensive if used in bulk.

Nice painting Syr Hobbs, I'm gonna steal that clothes pin idea, brilliant!
Hope this helps,
Ken

I'm a hot glue fan myself, if it doesn't work the first time it is quick and easy to re-attach. You can also start painting seconds after gluing.

Good old pva glue for me, it holds well and you can remove the figures without breaking them.

I cut strips of cardboard from cereal boxes and use standard white glue to create a strip of 4-6 or so, and paint them in batches. Picking each one up individually would be too slow for me.

I use white glue, when it dries and you are finished painting the miniature, just twist the stick and they should pop right off providing you don't use too much glue.

white glue it is, thanks

Blue tac. Far more flexible than glue so you don't get figures popping off all the time.

I use white glue to a roofing nail

roofing nails have extra wide heads
and I can stick into a block of foam
( I like the clothes pin idea above, but I already have the nails)

I had tried the poster tac but had problems with it softening in warmer weather

I use double-sided tape. It's strong enough to hold the figures (it will hold 25mm figures so 10mm won't be a problem). Cut the tape using a knife because it gunks up scissors.

I 2nd double-sided tape. I use the carpet tape & it works wonders.

I also second using two sided carpet tape. If you're careful with painting the base, you can use the same piece 2 or 3 times. But it sure is sticky stuff and will gum up scissors or hobby knives.

What? Why not Fudgepops sticks (it's a treat to eat a few dozen frozen treats before you use the wooden sticks to mount 3 or 4 per stick).

AND they can be reused many, many times (just pry or sand the old glue off…only takes a few minutes to do that).

As to glue Elmers is my favorite…brings back memories of Kindergarten and Sunday School projects.
