Just took a look at the Blue Moon listing of War of 1812. All the placeholders and tbd slots have been filled in the American listings. The Brit/Can still have many unfilled, but a few new ones: link And I noticed a new section for Mad Anthony Wayne and the US Legion. 3 sets there. Now we just need some interesting native varieties, apart from the basic FIW set! |

I'm excited about the American militia in civilian dress, who will do very nicely for Texans at San Jacinto -- the officers will probably become Mexicans. |

"The Brit/Can still have many unfilled" The range is complete -- the British listed on the website are from the Napoleonic range. I still have to do a few of the British Nap listings, but the the actual War of 1812 line is essentially done. Chris |

Complete? What about Baratarian Pirate gun crews? :( And free black and half breed militia? :( And Florida Spanish and Maroons? I'm talking about the REAL War of 1812, the one we won, down South, not that damn Yankee business where they surrendered or ran everytime they saw a guy in a red shirt! (Chippewa excepted) Uh, do I need to duck and run, or is there enough good ol' boys here to back me up?
:) :0 :) |

We whipped them when half the kentuck militia did not even have a gun! Did not have any Bladensburg races down here! We use to sing about that in the USMC around the Army
.long memories huh?! OH we do have to given them Lundy's Lane. Yankees did the best they could in the dark! Hard to see a red coat in the dark! Ducking with ya, we'uns don't run down here, we just die in place. If OG would do the free black militia, Choctaw Indians and White stick creeks
ok red stick also
I just might change my 1812 from 28mm to 15mm. Oh and for the thin of skin
.all in fun. |

I gave my 28mm Old Glory Legion and Indians to Dances with Clydesdales recently as I have some boxes of the Frying Pan & Blanket 20mm figures that are quite frnakly, more accurate than the Old Glory ones are. If the Blue Moon Wayne's Legion are accurate (riflemen with no bayonets, but carrying tomahawk, proper light infantry headgear, proper artillery crews and King's Howitzers) I'll be tempted to buy some and see how they compare height and heft wise to the FP&BA range. |

Has everyone read Flint's 1812: the Rivers of War? Excellent alternate history, great battles. |

No Doc, my war of 1812 reading is limited to Remeni and Mahan, and he was a Gata. Would love some references. |

Product Details 1812: The Rivers of War (The Trail of Glory) by Eric Flint (Mar 31, 2010) – Kindle eBook $7.99 USD Print Price $5.99 USD Kindle Edition Premise is that Houston is only lightly wounded at Horseshoe Bend, becomes a protege of Jackson and his man with the Cherokees. Great but different-from-what-really-happened accounts of battles at Washington and New Orleans. The sequel, 1824, is also very good. I know a LOT about that period of US history, and Flint has a very strong grasp on key personalities like Jackson and Clay, which is what is required to write good alternate history. |

Thanks, Doc! I have a place in Talequah, OK, were Houston spent a lot of time with the Cherokees. His Cherokee name, BTW, translates to "Big Drunk". LOL! Have some freinds, the Dreadfulwaters, who's ancestors were very good freinds with Sam. |
