Hi guys, I like to make at least 1 Mech for my Sci Fi armies, I have a Harook collection, and may get a Khurasan Hauk army as well, for those long fought Avian wars, and was thinking about how I would go about making Mechs for them, I would probably start with a Gundum style mech, but I not sure, any idea?

Some of the Mech warrior clicky tech mecha were from the Jade Falcon faction and a few of those had wing like armour and bird like legs with taloned feet.

Gunner Dunbar23 Apr 2014 7:18 a.m. PST

Will have to look into those, any other ideas?

The MECHA! game had some Aztec-styled mechs. Flagship Games, IIRC. I think Mark at Scale Creep carries their stuff now.

Not sure if there is a figure line anymore. Or ever, honestly. I just remember flipping through the book years ago.

Hey Dan, the Hauk actually have a mech, but it's been delayed because the tolerances for the pieces were WAY off and I need to do a ton of work on the print parts to get them to fit together. (Jason at micropanzer might be able to guess what happened there!) It's thing number four thousand sixteen on the list of things to do….

would they have mechs at all??? too ground poundish to me. maybe flyers only?

Giant penguins?

Jakar Nilson23 Apr 2014 10:22 a.m. PST

Well, there's a new mech anime currently airing in Japan called "Daimidaler" that features an evil Penguin Empire trying to conquer Earth.

Yeah, it's not really that serious a series…

a giant robo-penguin with a pen-gun…..

The Locust has a real chicken-walker look. The Firefly might work as well.

Locust, Vulture, and Flea from Battletech.

The power armor from the raptor guys would probably work too

Thanks Guys – not really into the penguin idea.
Avamango – those first 2 really fit the bill
Will look into a use for the raptor power armour.

Jimbo Burrell's sculpt of the Falcon CAV might be useful as a single-seat 15mm mech.

There are a few other candidates in the old CAV boneyard…
