Here was a quick battle I did with my "Luftpanzer" rules (which are basically an Ogre Minis variantwith command rules a la Future War Commander.).
The 16th Shock Division has broken through in the Padal Valley! Its Operational Maneuver Group, made up of 4 tank and one motor infantry battalion, supported by Neo-Pole mercenary recon units and the cybertank "Jacobin", is headed towards the outskirts of Robachy Down. The Army of Salvation intends to take this important city – the off-world transshipment point for half of the Northern Sertão – on the fly.
A company of power infantry and a troop of heavy mecha have been thrown into the valley in an attempt to hold the southern approaches of the port while a heavy armor battalion gathers to counterattack the flank of the Sallies' drive. A battalion of fast attack GEVs is screening the mid valley.
Both sides get points for killing enemy units and for holding cities. The valley cities are worth 20 points each while the outskirts of Robachy Down are worth 60.
The game lasts 12 turns.
Here's how the battle worked:
GEVs screen the valley while behind them, mobile infantry occupy the outskirts of Robachy Down:
Initial moves. The Neo-Pole armored cars round the central mountain while their GEVs dash up the river valley:
The Poles sting the enemy GEVs, but fall prey to a command blunder and retreat at an inopportune moment. The Grey heavy tank battalion scoops up the remainder of the Poles and it charges down the east flank of the valley:
The Grey armor battalion meets and defeats a Sally blocking force at the southern ford, driving through to the Sallies' rear and cutting them off from their own lines:
Meanwhile, however, Jacobin leads two Sallie armored battalions and the motor rifles in a drive on Robachy Down. A squadron from the 7th Dragoons meets them on the edge of town, but blown command rolls mean they get into place just a tad too late and are overrun.
The situation on Turn Ten:
The Sallies have advanced to the outskirts of Robachy Down, which they will take from the defending power armor in the last turn of the game. Meanwhile, the remnants of the Grey armored battalion have cut the Sallies off from their lines of communication, holding all three of the cities in the valley.
At the end of the battle, we find that the Sallies caused 200 points of casualties. They also hold Robachy Down's outskirts for a further 60 points.
The Greys have killed 120 points of Sallies and hold a further 60 points of towns in the valley.
260-180 points is a Sallie Substantial Victory. Nevertheless, things were a lot closer than they appeared, given that the Sallies only took their objective on the last turn. A few more blown command rolls and it would have gone 240-200 the other way.
