Would they have carried a standard at Waterloo?
If so, does anyone know where to get one in 15mm?

Thanks,
Keith

As far as I can ascertain, like their British comrades, the Netherlands cavalry regiments did not carry colours during the 100 Days. Indeed there is a question over whether even the infantry had colours. Though you can buy versions of the latter, I have never seen cavalry flags offered by anyone.

Well, if you did choose to use them, you can purchase them from GMB, as follows:

I would have thought that the Dutch and Belgian cavalry did perhaps carry standards, especially as the former had been absorbed into the French organisation up until 1814 and were still essentially under separate command prior to Waterloo.

That said, no painted standard-bearer should go without a flag in my humble opinion…

Whoops! Hadn't twigged the GMB efforts. If you want to go 'why not?' then they are probably the best.

Thank you so much. I had not thought of GMB.

None of them (cavalry) did.

How many French cavalry regiments went up that ridge with an eagle? There may have been the odd pennant at most. But every command set comes with an eagle/standard/pennant bearer….so we all use them. Heck, every little cavalry unit has a trumpeter, out of all proportion to numbers. One in 20 infantry is beating a drum, another one in 20 is carrying a flag, 5% of all units are bearded pioneers. Amazing they ever fired a volley.

I have Blucher commanding approximately 30 infantry and slightly more artillery gunners!

You want a DB dragoon with a flag, go to GMB…nice chap
