East Africa campaign figures we want so bad? I hope-a, hope-a, hope-a. |

Not a chance. Hat are allegedly releasing them in soft plastic 20mm sometime in the next year or so, but other than that nobody seems interested, which is weird. Perhaps blue moon could do them in 18mm – worth an email. |

Perhaps some Boxer Rebellion troops might do the trick? German East Asian Brigade in their hats and Marines in their sun helmets? Found this on Daddy's Little Men blog
nice alternatives given: link |

I just use ordinary colonial and WW1 troops for mine, although Pendraken thought it was worthwhile releasing a dedicated range in 10/12mm, they seem to he the exception (apart from odd 28mm offerings). |

Looking at the Irregular Miniatures 1870-1918 and Colonial ranges looks like most things can be done. Maybe with a bit of squinting. |

I have looked at Irregular as the best option out there – the challenge is finding figures that match in size for filling in the gaps. There are some items in Blue Moon's Darkest Africa (and even some in the Horror) range. I still want to see a dedicated range – and keep hoping what has become my favorite, Blue Moon, will step and fill the void. |

Finally took some time to check out the link above. That overall table shot shows just why I want to do this in 15 mm. Yeah, those 10 mm from Pendraken are nice but just not quite big enough for me. And the larger scales just don't look right or give room for spread out battles – witness the old WI article with a Tanga game, beautiful but cramped to the point of being stylized. The table in that link really let's pretty much the whole battle spread out an average size table. Nice jog. I continue to hope some manufacturer steps in to this glaring whole in figure availability. We German East Africa adherents might be a small crowd but a dedicated one. And I say again, virtually every figure in such a range can also be useful for Pulp gaming and Back of Beyond gaming – plus like as not those doing period fantasy gaming (that would not be me, though). |
