All, Another new project? What can I say, I'm being the typical wargamer with "ooh, shiny" syndrome. So I've got tons and tons of 10mm stuff in multiple periods, then my wife gets pregnant and I decide I want to go with small board stuff, so I broaden my 10mm skirmish forces and pick up a bunch of new 3mm stuff. My 3mm stuff is taking awhile to paint, and I need more of it, and the 10mm skirmish stuff is cool but I came up with another idea, so what do I do? I order some new stuff in a new scale. I bought the "Al-Qaeda/Taliban" Combat Command, a set of BTR-70s, an Mi-24 Hind-E, Modern German Infantry (I like the poses, they're going to be my home team), Modern Third World Regulars, and Modern Third World Heavy Weapons (some of the hvy wpns are going for my Odessa unit, the rest of the modern infantry are going to be my pro-Soviet guys). I still have a bunch of infantry unpainted, and I have five T-72s and five BMP-2s that are primed but not finished.
The whole force.
The Mi-24 Hind.
Some infantry. For an explanation as to my intentions with this project and about 30 more pictures, please visit the blog at: link V/R, Jack |

An impressive array of figures and vehicles. I'll look forward to future posts especially I've been planning my own similar campaign (only two years so far) Keep up the good work |

Does you're wife not realize how selfish she's being! After putting all that money, time and effort into acquiring all those lovely 6mm only to find yourself fending to get an absolute $%#%@ load of 3mm and there she goes and gets herself pregnant
shameless
Love the new toys by the way |

Thanks Lee and Legion, I hope to get them on the table this weekend. Panda-John: Amen brother! And it's, ahem, all that money, time, and effort into 10mm (The Good Lord's Own True Scale), and an absolute $%#%@load of 3mm. The 6mm is merely my latest foray off the beaten path. In her defense, I can't blame her for getting pregnant, I am a sexy beast! I must inform you that it has been pointed out how low I am to take advantage of her current condition by using it as an excuse to buy more toys in new scales. My reply: "Honey, you don't get it, I'm doing this for you!" I've got to get better at hiding my postal packages
When can we expect to see another of your museum-quality miniatures games? V/R, Jack |

Jack I haven't had time to even look at a war-game table in absolute ages and I can't see an opportunity in sight
so I'm relying on you to supply a few decent AAR's
and I don't even mind what scale you use :) |

"how low I am to take advantage of her current condition by using it as an excuse to buy more toys" Hi JJ I think its quite reasonable action and can be justified as a future investment for junior when he/she arrives, on the grounds of being an educational resource/models for the kid to play with/to be sold at a future date for college funds etc Oh congratulations to you and the wife! |

Lee – Thanks for the congrats, and finally someone sees it from my perspective! Panda John – Quit being so lazy! Did you sleep last night? Then you had time to game! You'd get a lot more games in if you weren't busy painting facial expressions on your troops and individual whiskers on your livestock; their pretty, but can they (do they get to) fight? Mine may look like they were painted by a pre-schooler with crayons, but I get plenty of games in ;) I will try to keep my end of the deal up with regard to batreps forthcoming. My plan this weekend is to get in at least two games, one 10mm Special Operations and one 6mm Soviet-Afghan. The plan for this weekend is defninitely to be a 'playing' weekend, not a 'painting' weekend. With any luck I might get in a third, then get them written up. The small boards, scale, and rules all mean my games are pretty quick, so long as I don't overload them with too many troops. V/R, Jack |

painting facial expressions on your troops and individual whiskers on your livestock, LoL
If you actually noticed I prefer the other way around (I like my critters having lots of personality) I am looking forward to your promised AAR but I have to admit I'm getting a little worried about of the recent trend in the decreasing size of your minis
better have that AAR soon or we'll be looking at a flea circus event :) And by the way as much as it hurts me to admit it your painting is top notch and your minis look great
but I can understand why you dont 't give much personality to your minis
most of them are Marines after all! |

What is it you do exactly to make your sheep smile? A flea circus, eh? Now you're making fun of me? You know what you are, you're a miniatures elitist! I bet your 20mm guys are made of platinum, aren't they? Terrain made from the pelts and bones of extinct animals, I bet! You're gonna rue the day, Panda John! Okay, maybe not, just get off your butt and play some more games. Amen to that 'Marines' talk, though that's not why my little guys don't have personality. They don't have personality because I don't have personality. Plus, I bought 3, 6, and 10mm stuff so I wouldn't have to paint personality. Take care man. V/R, Jack |

"What is it you do exactly to make your sheep smile?" Hey Jack I'm Irish not Welsh! And before I get the PC crew on top of me I want to make it understood that some of my best friends are Welsh (mind you their best friends are sheep) |
