A blog entry about my Korean War project, this time some initial thoughts about the air portion of the war: gamingkorea.blogspot.com |

Darryl, In addition to Clash of Sabres, I would recommend you take a look at AirWar: C21 by Wessex Games. I like them better than CY6 when I'm playing jet combat games. The rules do a great job of simulating the vertical as well as the level turning fight. Mark |

Mark – Does AirWar: C21 or the Data Annex have stats (planes and weapons) for the Korean War? Based on the Wessex website and the title of the rules they cover more modern aircraft. |

The data sets DO cover Korea, but only for jets. For example, MIG-15, MIG-15bis, Meteor F.8, F-80C, F-84E. F-86A, F-86E, F-86F, etc. are all covered. No data is provided for prop aircraft like the Yaks, Mustang, Corsair, etc. Mark |

Good to know, thanks for the elaboration of aircraft covered. I may pass for now until I get a handle on Clash of Sabres and Check Your 6! jet age. Again, thanks! |

A set I enjoy is Wings at War's "Mig Alley". link Simpler than Clash of Sabres, perhaps a bit more complex than AirWar C21 in that they include a vertical dimension. And they have one of the best rules for victory conditions I have seen. Your victory condition depends on how many assets you commit to a scenario. Al |

Thanks for the tip, Al. I will check into MiG Alley if Clash of Sabres do not work out. |

Big CY6 fan, and the Korea campaign book is quite fun. |

I received my CY6 Korean War book the other day. A lot of great scenarios, but in looking through them I am going to have to invest into a lot more aircraft! |
