My son and former wargaming team mate has been recently assigned to Fort Benning, GA.

Are there any active wargaming groups in the Ft Benning / Columbus area?

Before his Service, we often played in local 28mm and 54mm historical games: FIW, SYW, AWI, Napoleonic, and WWII; and the occasional Warhammer and Man o' War fantasy naval games.

There probably is. Ask around the Simulations center?

As of a year ago, there apparently was:
Moxie Games (paintball, CCGs, boardgames and miniature gaming)

If you do facebook, there's also some sort of active gaming group(s) there:

He is always welcome to make a road trip to Treefort Games in Fayetteville, about 1 1/2 hours away.

Thank you for the recommendations. I will pass them on to my son.
