The base map of Chickamauga is actually old park service/ government maps from the 1890s. Actually, there are about 15 of them showing troop movements throughout the battle. They are free and in public domain. If you Google "Chickamauga Maps" you will probably find them. I used Photoshop for all modifications/graphics. I updated the Chickamauga base map extensively. It has a fold line and discoloration splitting the maps horizontally. I did my best to get rid of it. Plus, I added green to make the wooded areas stand out. I also made the creeks more blue. Most of the Chickamauga maps are still pretty accurate. I may have to update the one's concerning Sheffield's brigade based on David Powell's new research. After writing the books on Pickett's Mill and Allatoona Pass, I know they could use some updating. |
