Anyone have any experience painting Ziterdes terrain pieces, which are a sort of foam material? I am curious about primer to use.

Use household emulsion (latex in US?) paints. No need for a special primer coat.

I painted one last month. It came with a primer coat already sprayed on.(either primer or the worst prepaint ever)
Anyway i used Delta ceramicoat craft paints and it turned out very nice, I will buy more of their buildings when I see them.
I painted the window panes black, then gave them a few coats of clear gloss. It made them look as if there's glass in them.
I would suggest using 2 coats of your base color to help fill in any small bubbles in the surface. Mine were minimal, but there.

That is interesting. The house I have is two-color, a gray and then a red shingle roof, so maybe that is indeed some sort of preprimed surface.

Yep. Just painted right over it.
