I've had a weird glitch lately. First I noticed that my desktop computer would load a TMP page – any TMP page – as nothing but a white screen. My phone and laptop still accessed it fine. Then the phone started getting the same results. And last night the laptop and my wife's iPad, too. TMP is now just white screens. (Some of these devices were logged-in to the site, some were just Visiting.) My work computer – as you can see – still can access TMP just fine. And my phone accessed it earlier this morning while sitting in the doctor's office, using 3G. - So it's apparently a problem having something to do with my wireless router? Has anybody experienced anything like this before? My router can't see TMP anymore? Or TMP won't allow pages to load to that router? |

Perhaps run a virus scan at home? Is anything else failing? |

No, nothing else is problematic. No other site is behaving this way. At first I thought it was the browser, because it started happening shortly after I upgraded to the latest version of Safari (6.1.3). So I tried using Firefox instead, but got the same result. The only thing that all these devices and browsers have in common is the WiFi connection. |

Drop the Editor a note. He was trying to keep a troll off the site and may have inadvertently got your IP address. |

Perhaps your browsers are responding to the general level of TMP discourse these days? |

vtsaogames might be right, if your ISP changed your IP address recently
are you in the NYC area? |

Congratulations on getting a reply from the editor

I'm in the greater NYC area, yes. New Jersey. To my knowledge, my provider hasn't changed my IP address. And why would that matter anyway, if I was just going to the page without being logged-on? (Just as a "visitor"?) |

if your ISP changed your IP address recently
To my knowledge, my provider hasn't changed my IP address. You wouldn't necessarily know. Most ISPs use DHCP to allocate IP addresses. If you don't use your connection for a while then the DHSP allocation times out and the next time you connect you get another IP address from the available DHCP pool. |

But even if it had been changed
why would that result in my being unable to see TMP? |

But even if it had been changed
why would that result in my being unable to see TMP? The Editor has been trying to block access to a troll, by blocking his IP address. Trouble is that this ignores the fact that IP addresses are not tied irrevocably to a given ISP subscriber as I explained above. If you happened to pick up one of these blocked IP addresses (because you happen to subscribe to the same ISP as the troll) then that could explain the behaviour you have observed. |

Still mysterious. I've been in touch with the Editor a few times over the past week, and he's tried lifting various blocks, to no avail. I still get nothing but a white screen on all browsers and all devices, as long as I'm using my home router. Here at work, as you can see, I can get on. I've tried all the usual fixes; rebooting the router/modem, re-downloading the browser app, clearing out the cache, etc. I'm totally shut out from TMP – and only TMP – from home. |

We're testing once more when he gets home. |
