link Great value but are the figures suitable for 1916 if one swaps the heads and paints in Horizon blue? I am sure this is a simple question but I don't have any French army uniform books but I do have a lot of F&G heads! |

You could just do a lot of bases, with heads buried up to the necks, sticking out. They could be the Lost Patrol, kind of like the Bayonet Trench memorial at Verdun: link |

The most visible difference in 1916 apart from Adrian helmet would be puttees replacing gaiters. The only other bit of visible 1916 kit would be the gas mask canister but it wouldnt be noticed if it wasnt there. Worth also noting that leather kit remained the same but changed from black to brown. Cheers Mark |
