Corvus II is an admirably simple set of rules but it's some time since I played it and I have a few queries.

(1) "To attempt to grapple an enemy ship the grappler must be in contact with it." (Page 7). Does this mean that grappling can occur only after an (unsuccessful) ram or after a collision?

(2) There don't seem to be any rules for ungrappling…How should this be handled?

(3) A ship on fire has one chance to put it out or become a burning wreck at the start of its next turn. Immediately before that, at the end of the enemy turn, it may have a chance to shoot. I think that is unlikely and in the games I've played I've disallowed it, but there's nothing in the rules to prevent it as far as I can see. What do other players think?

Fire on a wooden ship preempts everything.
