Surprised this hasn't been mentioned over here: link Massively overfunded Kickstarter for a minis game based on the Sentinels of the Multiverse setting/card game. Hex-based, but still a minis game, and at this point there are quite a few models coming for it. Friend of mine is in the beta playtest and I've had a chance to play, looks like a good fast-playing game that stays quite true to the superhero genre. Not enormously deep, but there are certainly hard choices to be made from turn to turn and that's just the beta. |

I think it might have been mentioned as part of another topic (somewhere!) Interesting 'scale' – looks like you fight over a whole city not just a street! I can almost see this being a campaign system for other skirmish systems. I suppose the miniatures would mix well with my existing collection of 28mm-30mm pewter figs. |

The card game is a lot of fun. If the villain and his/her henchmen aren't trying to kill you the environment that you're playing in usually is! |

Interesting 'scale' – looks like you fight over a whole city not just a street! I can almost see this being a campaign system for other skirmish systems. That's certainly the case in the playtest. Not sure how big the add-on maps for places like Wagner Mars Base and the Defense Platform will be – Freedom Tower is clearly inside a building/super-base. Scale is pretty nebulous, as you might expect of a game inspired by comics. The card game is a lot of fun. If the villain and his/her henchmen aren't trying to kill you the environment that you're playing in usually is! One of my favorite co-op games, although I do wish it had a "versus" mode for straight one-on-one superhero fights. The environments add an enormous amount of variety and playability to the game IME – fighting Baron Blade on Mars is a very different game than Baron Blade in the Ruins of Atlantis. They're even helpful sometimes – Akash'bhuta fell in a volcano on Insula Primalis last night. :) |

So can someone confirm these will be 28-32mm scale? -Will |

Straight from the Kickstarter front page: All of the Sentinels Miniatures are PVC miniatures on a hexagonal base (1.25" side-to-side). The miniatures are on a 32mm scale, and the Omnitron miniature is significantly larger and stands on a 3-hex base. |

OK, so where did this game come from? Evidently it has been around for years and this is the first I've heard of it. I must live a sheltered life! I immediately went out and got the SotM (Enhanced Edition) card game. Very simple, very elegant and very playable solo. The Enhanced Edition is evidently a great improvement over the original. The box big enough to hold all the cards in the basic game (there is a plastic insert of two rows the you can put your cards into). They now provide tokens for hit points and game effects. There are even divider cards for putting between your decks that not only cover the decks in the basic game but also for the expansion sets. Oh, and now I've joined another KS. Tim |

The card game is fantastic. I wasn't particularly impressed by the minis or the gameplay of the board game, but YMMV. The card game is great stuff either way. |
