Hello, new to the website. I have a question for those that have played A Fistful of Kung Fu. I've been on the lookout for a while for a miniatures game that captures some of the feel of Street Fighter. Would this game work for playing small arena style battles between 2 – 4 heroes, or have some of the martial arts video game feel with special moves and blocking/dodging? Or can you only play with a one hero force filled out with grunts? |

You can always break the rules and go for a heroes vs. heroes battle, but I'm not sure you'd get the super-detailed feel for the battle that you might want. Each hero could have a few specialities though, but you aren't going to be able to get a roster of 20-30 martial arts heroes that all feel different. At least until Andrea releases a supplement! |

White Wolf had a RPG based on Street Fighter. link I had a copy years ago. It would be pretty easy to convert to miniatures. Another suggestion would be to try a set of super hero rules like Super System. |

Thanks for the responses! I think I'll hold off on this one for now and keep looking. I have White Wolf's Street Fighter Story Telling Game, I haven't read through it in years, but as I recall, it is a little more detailed than I'm looking for, it would take a fair amount of work to get some of the more modern fighters and fighting styles converted into the system. Maybe I should dig it out and take another look though just to be sure. I am more looking for some quick light game that captures the feel more than the actual mechanics, if that makes sense. |

I'd second Super System as a possibility; the power rules are flexible enough to mimic a lot of the moves and powers found in a fighting game. It allows you to differentiate between strong/slow and weak/fast fighting styles and the like. The main thing missing would be the idea of specific combos and counters. Ironically I've been thinking about something very similar after stumbling across and playing Street Fighter II on the Xbox. I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with. -Will |

If you want more detail and different powers, probably you would be better served by Power Legion, my superhero ruleset coming out in a couple of months. In AFOKF, martial artists shine in a "gang context" – meaning, you see the typical action where Jet Li or Jackie Chan can mop the floor with extras, smash stuff, jump around a lot, and use the scenery as weapons or to improvise other effects. |
