"Scammer Alert: Sean Duncan t/a Battlegrounds Wargaming." Topic

Is there anyone else here having problems with Sean Duncan of Battlegrounds Wargaming Painting Service from Ontario Canada?
(or know of anyone who is?)

I have instigated legal action against him in an attempt to get my figures and money back. The local police are already "aware" of this individual (prior to my contact)and have taken my complaint details to pursue formal charges.

fritz: he is out of Brampton, which (afaik)is a city in its own right? but comes under Greater Toronto.

I'm a profiteer painter myself, and I hate when someone does this because it makes it harder sometimes for people to trust those of us who aren't smegheads. Let us know if you get your stuff back, if not, I have a couple Reaper gnolls here that we use every so often for our D&D games, and I'll send them your way to help you out.

Thank you for that very kind offer but no need, I have other Gnoll figures amongst my excessive lead mountain.
Besides, I am confident that this will be resolved satisfactorily….even if personally I could wish for a somewhat more physical and painful conclusion.

Sean Duncan is the second painter I have taken police/legal action against, I send a lot of figures out for painting and am prepared to give new services/painters a try, so unfortunately it may not be the last.

Update:
This scumbag has done a runner from his listed address without leaving details of a new location. He has also lapsed his website and stopped posting on social media sites. The local Police are looking for him for several reported "instances" including mine.

I repeat my request for anyone else dealing with/knowing this person to contact me or 22div Peel Police Department in Brampton direct. Also if you see Sean Duncan or "Battlegrounds-Wargaming Painting and Modelling Service" threads on other forums you frequent (especially any Warhammer/40K related sites) please post a warning and link to this thread.

As I said above the Police were already aware of this guy so are taking this matter seriously (surprisingly so actually), I have a feeling he has a lot more than just my 15 Gnolls to answer for.

Hi Rob,

I am in Ottawa Ontario but have contact with guys across Ontario all the way to Toronto. I am a painter as well and most of my work are for the local lads around the place, people like this character give us a bad name. I am on several different forums up here and will warn the guys and see if anyone knows of him as well.
