We have been dusting off our old 15mm Minifigs WWI figures with the centenary now on use, and we are looking for a set of rules to use as our old set of club rules are now 20+ years old and do reflect the war very well. We are look for a set that will cover 1914 to 1918(open and trenches). We us 18 figure battalions with between 10 to 40 aside so they need to work at a division/corp level. Are there any out there ? |

Apologies but I don't quite understand what is meant by '18 figure' battalions. Do you have a stand per battalion? Or are the 18 figures spread over multiple smaller stands, say company size? Robert |

Great War Spearhead is a WWI set that is designed for large battles. |

Robert, 18 fig in a battalion (bases are 3x3,3x2,3x1 =18) allows use to use figure removal, and alter the battalion size. Mac |

Thanks Mac. That makes sense. I don't know of any WW1 rules that would suit this approach. Great War Spearhead is my recommendation too but there is no requirement for figure removal. Whole stands are removed in the event that a company is rendered unable to continue. GWSH definitely supports the requirement for divisions and corps. It even scales to whole armies. We are planning a re-run of the Battle of the Marne with German First and Second Armies up against the French 5th, 6th and 9th Armies along with the BEF. All in 6mm. It looks like 11 tables will be needed. Robert |

I will throw in for Great War Spearhead as well. As Robert mentioned figure removal is by stand (company). I use 15mm for the most part – lots of mini-figs :) |

Another recommendation for Great War Spearhead, if you want smaller battles Square Bashing is good for division or less. Both sets use one stand to a company, your existing figures would work fine. |
