Hi all. I've bought way too many ships which has resulted in my space being eaten up. I need to think more sensibly about it all so I was wondering what other gamers use to store their fleets. I currently use box files, but there is a waste of space in terms of the height. |

I put 2 or 3 layers in mine – hot glue strips to the sides and ends and then make a 2mm MDF 'shelf' to sit on them. For a 3rd layer I put the strips on the edges of the 2nd layer. Ships with masts probebly need 2 layers but those without usually manage in 3. To help remove the layers I put a handle in the middle of each shelf. |

I pretty much do what GildasFacit does, only instead of handles I cut a notch in the middle of each long end for fingers to lift out the layer. I like the handles approach though. |

I buy fishing lure boxes, stick in magnetic plastic and mount my ships on steel bases. They stay secure. |

Here is how I store my Russo-Japanese 1:2400 ships. I have the entire naval order of battle of both countries (minus a number of destroyers) in one 15" x 10" x 3" box in three layers. I do not have masts on my ships so that does make a difference in the height required. link Jim |

Thatīs a very neat and tidy way to do it Jim, I like it. |

I use A4 plastic file boxes like these: link (Poundland sell something very similar, but for a pound) They are about 1.5 inches high – easily big enough for 1:3000 ships. |
