Salute is certainly an awesome show. North Korea might have a bigger one but it would have been kept secret! Sorry to hear about the crush getting in but I did recommend 11am turn up. Our group was very grateful for all the hard work put in by the Warlords with no financial reward to themselves. So a big thank you. It is too easy to stand on the sidelines and comment. Maybe offer your services and expertise for free on the day as do the warlords themselves? Reminds of the chap who was telling me that miniature metal was not that expensive and he was sure he could get it much cheaper. Sadly he just didn't actually have the ability to get that "much cheaper" price. But was very sure it could be done. The Salute mug was a nice big size. Did not get a show figure but I am sure those that did get them will treasure them, or put them on ebay? The show was indeed very big, but certainly not "too big". That would be a silly comment. I liked the generous amount of room around the games and traders, excellent. Great to have a lot of chairs about (take note, some shows who have few chairs). It was a great day, in my opinion. Hope the long queuers (sp)cheered up when they got in to the spectacle? So thank you warlords, much gratitude here for a difficult job well done. Overseas gamers should make Salute a "pilgrimage" if they get the chance, albeit an expensive pilgrimage! thanks martin

The only bad thing for me with the venue (and it's not the Warlords fault) is the truly terrible lighting. Even with my glasses I was struggling to read the plan in the guide

Nice one Martin! Good to see a balanced viewpoint which raises a few home truths about the sterling work of the Warlords Volunteers. |

Sorry I didn't get over to see you Martin – busy day (but I did stop by and get some pink piggy dice for a friend's daughter
) .. I can only make a subjective judgement and found my time at Salute well worth the effort
met lots of people, shifted some Society gear
everybody I met seemed to be enjoying the show
Tiring but worth it Phil |
