Dear All,

To commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the end of the Peninsular War the Wollongong Wargamers replayed the Assault on the Heights of Calvinet exactly 200 years ago to the day…

We tried! It was fun to go on the attack with the Brits and the Portuguese assualt on the redoubt was touch and go for a few turns.

I wish I had joined the Napoleonics journey with you in 2007 (rather than 2012) as I have always enjoyed the 200th anniversary games.

Yes mate you tried hard right from the start and it was touch and go to the end!

I hope we will be able to revisit some of the earlier classics such as Talavera and Bussaco after the Waterloo 200 project – especially now that Warlord are promising plastic Portuguese and Spanish….

I've been trying to spot the messenger (I think he's just off the right edge) shouting "Nosey, don't do it! It's all over. You'll only start some daft on-line message thread 200 years from now"

Does Philip have a NAAFI van following him?

Lol!

Actually if I'm honest that was a posed shot and the mug contains only the dregs of a 'cuppa char' – we have a really good water boiler just down the hall, but its been on the blink for about 2 months, so we're reduced to Tea by Microwave, and its just not the same… (Somebody who works at the Uni really ought to report it!)

I am sure that having been a 21 Chickens at some stage in your career you would be right on that.

Thanks! Yes they are a great bunch, I'm very lucky they indulge my passion for Napoleonics so much!
