After some encouragement in a recent thread, I've jumped feet first into CIC. There was some interest expressed in my premise: Werewolves in Colonial America, so I've updated my blog (yeah it's been a while…) with some of what i'm working on.

Hope you enjoy

Nice read, looking good. What is CIC?

Chaos in Carpathia, I think.

Chaos in Carpathia… a great game!

The setup of your Colonial scenario sounds a bit like the last Ginger Snaps movie.

CIC= Chaos in Carpathia

it's a great little rule set I'm just getting into. I'm sure others can speak more authoritatively about it… But it allows you to fight the classic monsters (mummy, Frankenstein, vampires, werewolves) vs humans

Or CiC = Chaos in Cairo, my personal favorite ;)

Smokey Roan13 Apr 2014 6:58 p.m. PST

and you don't need a lot to start playing. One of the Blue Moon figure sets, and then you just add more individuals and terrain as you advance.

Terrain and extra figures are easilly borrowed from other games as well.

(That said, I spent a LOT building a lot more figs and terrain in 28 and 15mm than I needed too) ;)

It got that great skirmish gaming yet RPG elements "feel" to it. Much easier to get your favorite characters into a game than say, CoC, which requires elaborate pre game planning and set up.

One of the all time favorites of mine!

My only complaint is the lack of blank character sheets in the rules, and lack of quick reference sheets, making it hard for those new to the rules.

wingleader35614 Apr 2014 5:06 a.m. PST

I bought the digital (PDF) version, so it's real easy to print more character sheets… I'm also thinking about putting togeather some sort of flow chart/cheat sheet as I'm getting a handle on the rules… Not sure when that will be (starting a new job, moving to new apt, etc over the next couple weeks)

Smokey Roan14 Apr 2014 2:12 p.m. PST

Let me know when you get that cheat sheet done. ;)

I really like the henchmen mechanics. So easy to handle a group of them in CiC. Perfect for pulp and pulp horror styles!

Smokey Roan15 Apr 2014 8:11 a.m. PST

Yeah, relooked, my Chaos in Cairo book, and the Choas in carpathia PDF, have no blank Character sheets. :(

wingleader35615 Apr 2014 12:07 p.m. PST

Smokey… Drop me an email and I can send you a blank character sheet to print? Ricojohn52 at yahoo dot com

I'm kind of bummed. I bought two of the Blue Moon boxed sets and both say they come with rules. All I got was figures inside.

I assume the rules I was supposed to get would have been a lite version of CiC, right?

wingleader35616 Apr 2014 8:17 a.m. PST

Angry piper,

If you go on the blue moon page there is a downloads page that has the sheets on it for free…

This should get you there:

Thanks, wingleader!

wingleader35618 Apr 2014 12:28 p.m. PST

Smokey, you get my email?

Smokey Roan18 Apr 2014 5:48 p.m. PST

Yes, sorry, I thought I responded. Thank you! LOL! I found my printed out PDF of CiC, and for some reason, the rules were stapled into thrids (probably because the entire rules were to thick)

Well, my rules stopped at page 70. I am still missing the part with the blank sheets!

You saved me! :)

BTW, I can't find pics of all your terrain on your blog?

And, with your late 18th century setup, the headless horseman is a gimmee for a second genre!

wingleader35618 Apr 2014 10:15 p.m. PST

Smokey,

Glad to help with the sheet!

I also bought the headless horseman sleepy hallow pack from blue moon as well when I placed my order… At some point I want to order the blue moon sleepy hallow building set (when I have a few hundred $ to burn)

All my posts seem to be ok at my end … You can't see any of the photos I posted?
